Child safety

Quokkie does not tolerate any sexual abuse or sexual exploitation of children. In particular, it is prohibited to:

• send, share, request or point to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including as text, voice message or in a live conversation;
• approach minors with sexual intent or gain their trust for that purpose (grooming);
• blackmail minors with intimate images (sextortion) or pressure them into sexual acts;
• sexualise children or arrange trafficking of children.

Quokkie may only be used from the age of 16 (see Terms of use).

• In the app: press and hold a message or tap the name at the top of the chat, then “Report” and choose “Endangering a child”. The most recent messages of the chat are sent to our team in decrypted form.
• By email: team@quokkie.app, subject “Child safety”.
• If a child is in immediate danger: call the police right away (112 in the EU).

• We review reports about endangering children with priority.
• If there is a violation, we permanently suspend the account. It can no longer sign in and can no longer be found.
• We report indications of child sexual abuse material and grooming to the competent law enforcement authorities (in Germany the Federal Criminal Police Office or the local police) and keep the reported content for as long as necessary for that purpose.
• We cooperate with authorities when they request information in proceedings, as provided for by law.

Chats on Quokkie are end-to-end encrypted; we can't scan them automatically. That's why reports from the app matter so much: they give us the content concerned.
